Spoils of War

In a news dump Friday a week ago, the president abandoned a big chunk of his health care plan. Last Friday he abandoned Iraq. Only this time it really was Bush’s fault. Bush negotiated the withdrawal late in his administration. Obama tried to extend the Status of Forces agreement to allow 3,000 troops to to remain, but couldn’t get an Iraqi agreement on immunity from criminal prosecution for killing people and breaking things. So, he claimed credit for fulfilling a campaign pledge, took his army, and went home.

The Don Rickles Administration

The Heckler in Chief has gone from insulting the Supreme Court and Paul Ryan, to all the Republicans in Congress. Here’s Obama. And here’s Biden.

Update: Here’s a Michelle Malkin column about Biden’s thuggish behavior toward journalists in this case and others.

Gadhafi Gone

Well, now he’s dead. So it seems.

During these days of concern about class inequality it’s comforting to witness real class mobility. Saddam and Gadhafi were both vicious killers who moved from being Uncle Sam’s ally to enemy, in one case, and enemy to ally in the other. They also moved from palace to hole.

Private Sector Doing Just Fine Until the Rape and Murder Begins

Unable to push Obama’s jobs bill though the Senate, Democrats shoved it through the chipper instead and hope to pass it piece by piece. Wednesday’s piece was money for the public sector. Harry Reid said this is important because “the private sector is doing just fine“. Joe Biden deflected heat from Harry’s howler by threatening murder and rape if we don’t pass this piece of… legislation right away.

Here are some job numbers since Dec 2007 from IBD: private sector – 5.4%, public sector at all levels – 1.75%, public sector federal level +2.29%. Also, Bloomberg reports the average federal salary in Washington, DC is $126,000.

One Percent Pander

In an ABC interview with Jake Tapper last night, Obama reached out to the Occupy Wall Street crowd and called for a more “egalitarian” society.

No word yet on a bail-out for Wall Street’s investment in Obama.

Update: It turns out the president is still raking The Street.
