Stable Genius Cleans Stable

stable genius

Morning Joe counsels that President Trump is demented. And Yale psychiatrist Dr. Bandy Lee agrees. She warned that “the president’s mental health might lead to the extinction of the human species.”

At the very least, Michael Wolff cautioned that “something is grievously amiss.”

Nurse Ratched was unavailable for comment.

Nevertheless, the president reassured everyone -“I’m a very stable genius.”

Jeff Sessions vs Pot Industry

pot industry

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has “trampled the will of the voters.” At least that’s the way Republican senator Cory Gardner of Colorado sees it.

Gardner’s state has a thriving pot industry. It’s legal under Colorado law. But, it’s illegal under the federal marijuana tax act of 1937. And Sessions says it’s his job to enforce federal law.

On the other hand weed was kind of legalized during the Obama administration. Deputy A.G. James Cole wrote a memo directing prosecutors to ignore pot stores in states that authorize them.

Pot Industry

Senator Gardner says Sessions promised him he would submit to the Cole memo. And now Gardner says he’ll hold up “every single nomination from the Department of Justice” until Sessions sticks to his word.

A WSJ editorial says Sessions is being cast as the “uncool parent” who’s forcing a debate on the rule of law that Congress should settle.

Political Bias Investigation

bias

Most everybody is either a Democrat or Republican. So it’s hard to find politically pure investigators.

Bias

Nine of the fifteen lawyers Robert Mueller hired to investigate Donald Trump made political contributions. A total of $62,043 of those contributions went to Democrats and $2,750 to Republicans according to Politifact.

Crack FBI agent Peter Strzok also referred to Trump as an “idiot” and a “douche.” And he went on to text that a Trump win was highly unlikely. Even so, he claimed an insurance policy was needed in the event of a Trump victory.

Trump won. And Mueller kicked Strock off the investigation.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein defended the Mueller special investigation against bias charges.

The End of Football

end of football

Ben Roethlisberger threw a touchdown pass to Jesse James. The pass put the Steelers ahead of the Patriots with half a minute to play.

Except the ball didn’t “survive the ground“. At least that’s how the replay official ruled it. And the Patriots went on to win.

Survive the Ground is a legalistic term NFL officials use to argue endlessly about how many football angels dance on pins.

End of Football

The end of football isn’t coming because of concussions and kneeling. It’s because they hardly play football.

Vox produced this chart in 2015 showing the game is mostly commercials and replays.

Trump Insurance Mandate

FBI honchos Peter Strzok and Lisa Page shared their hate for Trump in hundreds of texts. Nothing wrong with that. Even FBI agents have political gripes.

But these two weren’t just any agents. They were hired by Robert Mueller for his special investigation of Russian collusion in the 2016 election. And Strzok had led the Hillary email investigation

Trump Insurance

And in a meeting in the office of Deputy Director Andrew McCabe Strzok argued the need for an insurance policy in case Trump were to win the election:

“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office – that there’s no way he gets elected – but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk,” Strzok texted on Aug. 15, 2016. “It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40.”
