Senator Threatens Supreme Court Justices
Senator Chuck Schumer was feeling it at an abortion rights rally outside the Supreme Court. So he threatened two justices by name. Here’s what he said:
“I want to tell you, Gorsuch! I want to tell you, Kavanaugh! You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”
Chief Justice Roberts was having none of it, and he rebuked Schumer:
“Threatening statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous.”
So Senator Schumer apologized. Kind of:
I shouldn’t have used the words I did, but in no way was I making a threat. I never — never — would do such a thing.

Establishment Democrats Resist Bernie
The Resistance has shifted. Establishment Democrats now resist Bernie. They think he’s a loser. Here’s James Carville of “it’s the economy, stupid” fame:
If you’re voting for him because you think he’ll win the election, politically, you’re a fool.
Sanders called Carville a hack. And Carville took it as a compliment. “That’s what I am. I’m not a purist.”
At least I’m not a communist.

But Elian’s escape displeased Fidel Castro and became an international incident. So Attorney General Janet Reno sent him back. At gunpoint.
What’s that got to do with Bernie Sanders? Well, Bernie recently praised Castro’s Cuban literacy program. While disavowing authoritarian behavior he allowed, “I think teaching people to read is a good thing.”
