Twelve Steps to More Fame, Money, and Power
Thomas Sowell had another good column last week in which he asked the age old question, “why is Tiger apologizing to me?”.
Channeling Barbara Boxer
During the health care summit Obama twice pointed out, with a smile on his face, that he was the president. This seemed redundant since everyone in the room was already calling him “Mr. President”. He returned the favor by addressing them by their first names as if they were kids in his class – which they sort of were. Peggy Noonan and Dennis Prager picked up on this.
Helpful note to the president: don’t call Senator Boxer “Babs”.
Political Speech
I’m kind of late with this one but wanted to get it in. The idea came from a George Will column.
All the States Above Average
Arnold Schwarzenegger said on Meet the Press Sunday that the federal government owes the Golden State. He claims that his state only gets back $0.78 on the dollar from the feds while Alaska gets $1.86. (I accidentally cheated the mushers out of $0.56 in the cartoon.) Go here to see this part of the interview (if you don’t want to hear the whole thing you can fast forward to the 4:50 mark). In a later section of the interview he smacks the California congressional delegation for supporting the health care bill which he says will be an economic blow to their state .
