Georgia’s on Everybody’s Mind This Week
Georgia’s on everybody’s mind this week. Biden beat Trump by a nose and they’re doing a recount by hand. There’s also the runoff for two U.S. Senate Seats, with Mitch McConnell’s leadership hanging in the balance.
Meanwhile, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s General Sherman act wasn’t helpful. But it still looks like a lost cause for Donald Trump.
Oh, and the Masters is being played in November. Must be 2020.
Snobs vs Deplorables in 2020 Election
This election was about “Snobs” vs “Deplorables” (or “Chumps” in Joe Biden’s case). And here was Howard Stern to prove it in May:
“I don’t hate Donald,” he continued. “I hate you for voting for him, for not having intelligence. For not being able to see what’s going on with the coronavirus, for not being able to see what the Justice Department is doing. I hate you, I don’t want you here.”
And here’s Robert De Niro now:
“I’m not like political, but I was so angry and so enraged and confounded that he would actually behave the way he did and that people bought it,”
Biden Family Swamp Home
University of Chicago Professor Charles Lipson says Biden family corruption matters:
…But that doesn’t mean the scandals are irrelevant. They matter politically for several reasons, all of them bad for Joe Biden. They imply the following:
- Biden is just another grifting politician who got rich in office;
- Uncle Joe’s persona as average, lower-middle class guy is just a cover story;
- His self-enrichment makes him the “Washington Swamp” incarnate, no different from all the other politicians turned lobbyists; and
- The media is so crooked it won’t honestly tell the public about these problems, lest they vote the wrong way.
These issues are not a distraction from Trump’s central campaign themes. They are his campaign themes and have been since he came down that Trump Tower escalator in 2015 to announce his improbable candidacy.
Fight Speech You Don’t Like with More Speech
What ever happened to the idea that you fight speech you don’t like with more speech?
In 2013 Hunter Biden flew to China on business with his father on Air Force 2. But Joe claims to know nothing about Hunter’s business dealings there. Navy vet and investor Tony Bobulinski says otherwise. And he has evidence to back it up, including his two personal meetings with Joe Biden.
Sounds like a news story to me. But Adam Schiff called it Russian disinformation. Twitter shut down the NY Post’s account when it published the story. And now Fox News is carrying the story.
Pelosi’s Threat Comes and Goe
Nancy Pelosi’s threat of a Tuesday deadline to accept her stimulus terms has come and gone. They’re still negotiating.
I liked my original sketch better with Pelosi holding a gun to her head. But editors might not run it. So, if a cartoon falls in the forest and nobody sees it… what good is it?
I thought it was pretty funny when Cleavon Little did it in Blazing Saddles. (Trigger word warning for humor impaired)
