President Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort was convicted on eight charges of bank and tax fraud. The judge ruled a mistrial on 10 other charges. The conviction isn’t related to Robert Mueller’s collusion investigation.

But maybe it was related to Manafort’s taste for the the finer things in life. He once spent $15,000 on an ostrich jacket. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Except that he lied to banks for loans and didn’t pay taxes on $16 million.

All Tweet No Action

all tweet no action

Former CIA Director and cable tv personality John Brennan has tweeted that Trump is a traitor and a danger to our nation. So the president took away his security clearance. Now Brennan says Trump is punishing a critic and suppressing free speech.

All Tweet No Action

Earlier this week WSJ columnist William McGurn complained that Trump is “all tweet and no action”. McGurn feels the FBI is slow walking documents Congress has subpoenaed. So he wants Trump to declassify them.

Strzok Strikes Out

Strzok Strikes Out

Peter Strzok was the lead FBI investigator of both the Hillary Clinton email caper and Russian 2016 election meddling. His own text messages showed his bias in favor of Clinton and against Trump. He claimed he could smell Trump supporters at Walmart. But he insisted he was too professional to allow his opinions to affect his work.

Strzok Strikes Out

Deputy Director David Bowdich wasn’t buying it . He fired Strzok on Monday. So Strzok responded with a link to a GoFundMe account. By Tuesday it was worth $325,000.

Here’s a Washington Post story about the Steele dossier funded by the DNC and Clinton campaign .

FISA Court Uncovered

FISA court uncovered

In a Saturday document dump the FBI released 400 pages of its FISA court application seeking permission to spy on Carter Page. And it turns out the application was based on the Steele dossier.

FISA Court Uncovered

That’s the “salacious and unverified” dossier Comey testified about to Congress. It’s purpose was to dig dirt on Trump. It was paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign.

In The Intelligence Community We Trust

intelligence community

The intelligence “community” is popular with the never Trump crowd these days. Former CIA Director and Communist voter John Brennan says Trump’s behavior in Helsinki was “treasonous” and “impeachable.” The president did take Putin’s word over that of his own national intelligence director’s after all. (He changed his mind the next day with the old double negative apostrophe explanation.)

National intelligence directors didn’t always get the last word, though. James Clapper told The Senate Intelligence Committee that the NSA didn’t spy on phone calls of ordinary Americans. But ordinary Americans weren’t buying it and he later admitted, “it was the least untruthful statement he could make.”
