What Difference Does It Make?

what difference does it make

I thought about labeling the guy in the foreground Charles Woods. He’s the father of Tyrone Woods, the the security contractor killed defending the CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya.

But then I wondered, at this point, what difference does it make?

What Difference Does it Make?

Hillary lied to Mr. Woods that his son was killed a mob angry about a movie. Sort of like throwing rotten tomatoes, only using grenade launchers instead.

Here’s Mark Steyn’s 9/11 Benghazi anniversary review of the movie 13 Hours.

Nuclear Umbrella

nuclear umbrella

The U.S. pledges to protect its Pacific allies from nuclear attack by providing a “nuclear umbrella.” So far it’s worked. The umbrella keeps a lid on proliferation. And countries like Japan build Nissans instead of Nukes.

Folding the Nuclear Umbrella

But if the only country to know what a nuclear hit feels like wanted to go it alone, it could. Walter Russell Mead speculated in the WSJ that Japan might be able to build the bomb in a matter of months. But since it can’t be dropped from a Nissan, delivery could be problematic.

Still, shooting missiles over Japan might be a good way to get things started.

No Statue of Limitation in Identity Politics

Tear ’em all down.

Mark Lilla is a liberal history professor at Columbia. He blames identity politics for Democrats’ failure to win elections. The professor thinks the left focuses too much on what keeps us apart rather than on what brings us together. He says his conservative students make arguments based on ideas and principles. But his liberal students make their arguments based on identity.

Here’s a link to his latest book The Once and Future Liberal: After Identity Politics. And here are a couple of reviews from The Guardian.

Axis of Evil ICBM Launch

icbm

North Korea launched an ICBM that flew 2,400 miles high. Experts say that with a flatter trajectory the Hwasong-14 missile could reach the continental United States. However, it may not survive re-entry. If that makes you feel better.

Another ICBM Launch

Meanwhile, Iran launched a satellite carrying a rocket into space. The Pentagon thinks Iran could use the same technology to launch and ICBM carrying a nuke. So, in retaliation, the U.S. launched more sanctions on Iran.

That’s two out of three for the old Axis of Evil.
