Church State

The University of Notre Dame has joined Catholic bishops in a lawsuit over the president’s contraception mandate. Many of these same Catholics pushed for government mandated health care in the first place. Actually, some still do.

Drone

Drone flights have been so successful managing the populations of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen that the feds want to try it here.

Evolution

Obama was for gay marriage before he was against it, before he was for it.

Native

Elizabeth Warren, the blue eyed pale faced candidate for U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, says she’s a Native American. She claims her great great great grand mother as a Cherokee. The New England Historical Geneological Society is on the case.

Depending on how much you care about this, you can read Michelle Malkin (who dubs Warren “Pinocchio-hantas”) here.

Urine Your Own

I’m warming up to federal judges on personal liberty. The Supreme Court of the United States seems skeptical that the federal government can mandate that you buy stuff (Obamacare). Justice Kennedy suggested that would fundamentally change the “relationship between an individual and the government”. He asked, “can you create commerce in order to regulate it”?

Last week, a federal judge in Florida, Ursula Ungaro, ruled that the state can’t mandate that you give stuff (your bodily fluids). She ordered Governor Rick Scott (for the second time) to keep his hands off other people’s urine. Here’s the story about the drug testing rule in Florida.
