FBI and IRS Tea Party
Back in June a House committee wanted answers about IRS efforts to indimidate and silence Tea Party Groups. Lois Lerner, the IRS Director of Exempt Organizations took the fifth. There was very little Tea Party involvement in the campaign 2012 campaign. President Obama was re-elected.
The FBI has now declared “no harm no foul”, as Dan Henninger puts it.
Thus, two of the most powerful public institutions in the U.S.—the FBI and the IRS—have concluded no harm, no foul, and the memory hole swallows the Obama administration’s successful kneecapping of the GOP’s most active members just as they prepared to participate in the 2012 presidential campaign. Many—ruined or terrified by the IRS probes—shut down. Mr. Obama won.
NSA Radio Waves
Feeling safe by going offline? NYT says NSA can now access your computer through radio waves – even when it’s not connected to the internet.
I Have a Pen Speech
President Obama gave his I Have a Pen Speech yesterday. He waved his pen and said he also has a phone.
He then warned Congress that if it doesn’t do his bidding he would have his way by executive order. He would do that with the pen. He would use the phone to rally “non-profit and private sector support” for his agenda.
He didn’t mention recess appointments. In 2012 he declared the Senate in recess, even though the Senate said it was not. He then used the self-proclaimed recess to appoint 2 new members to the National Labor Relations board without Senate approval.
The Supreme Court is not looking kindly on the maneuver.
Health Care from Hell
Insurance companies thought they had a deal made in ..well I’m not sure. They were promised millions of new customers by the Affordable Care Act. But then the website went bad, policy holders lost their policies, and patients lost their doctors. President Obama began a divine re-write of the health care from hell law in ways that imposed unexpected costs on insurers. Now it looks like taxpayers will be condemned to a bailout.
Benghazi: Bad Movie Review or Act of Terror?
David Kirkpatrick wrote a long piece in the NYT December 28 that said the attack on Benghazi was the act of a bunch of locals very pissed off about a movie. The Washington Post later reported that a former GITMO detainee who had trained under Osama bin Laden and fought with the Taliban played a role in the attack.
As they say, “what difference does it make?” Well, President Obama did say that al Qaeda was on the run and headed for defeat. After the attack Susan Rice went on five Sunday news shows to say it was caused by the internet video. And Hillary promised the father of murdered Navy Seal, Tyrone Woods, that they would prosecute the movie maker.
Was Benghazi a Bad Movie Review or Act of Terror?
The fact is the mystery of Benghazi can easily be solved by the man himself. In the second 2012 presidential debate Obama insisted that it is was an act of terror.
Here’s Andrew Wilson’s review in The American Spectator.
