FBI Immunity Chest
Rather than convene a grand jury to subpoena her computer, the FBI gave Cheryl Mills immunity from prosecution. Mills served as Hillary’s chief of staff and as her attorney.
Immunity with Impunity
The FBI also gave immunity to four others and agreed to destroy computers after reviewing evidence on them.
Here’s what VDH thinks of that:
Had anyone else in government set up a private e-mail server, sent and received classified information on it, deleted over 30,000 e-mails, ordered subordinates to circumvent court and congressional orders to produce documents, and serially and publicly lied to the American people about the scandal, that person would surely be in jail.
Donald Trump African American Voters Outreach
Donald Trump reached out to African American voters last week while visiting inner city churches in Detroit and Philadelphia. His message was, “Democrats aren’t helping you, why not give me a try?”
This enraged liberals who called his Philadelphia visit an “offensive gimmick.” The mayor of Detroit asked if Trump was just there “to use Detroiters as props in a re-imagining campaign?”
African American Voters
Jason Riley in the WSJ thinks Trump is finally on to something. He believes Democrat leaders are holding back minorities in the cities they run:
Democrats are calling Trump names because they can’t defend their record. Homicides in Philadelphia rose last year and are up 6% this year. In 2015 Detroit students scored the lowest among big-city school districts on national math and reading tests. Minority children with access to school vouchers and charter schools are narrowing the achievement gap, while Democrats and teachers unions are working hand in glove to limit school choice.
Meanwhile, Chicago logged its 500th murder of the year over Labor Day weekend.
Showing Up In Louisiana
According to CBS News, thirteen people have died and 30,000 have been rescued from homes and cars due to flooding in Louisiana.
President Obama doesn’t want to get in the way of the relief effort so he’s staying put on the golf course at Martha’s Vineyard. Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards obliged by asking him not to come.
But the Baton Rouge Advocate doesn’t see it that way. The paper invited the president to come on down. A lead editorial was titled Vacation or not, a hurting Louisiana needs you now, President Obama:
Sometimes, presidential visits can get in the way of emergency response, doing more harm than good. But we don’t see that as a factor now that flood waters are subsiding, even if at an agonizing pace. It’s past time for the president to pay a personal visit, showing his solidarity with suffering Americans.
The press and politicians weren’t so cautious either when President Bush did a Katrina flyover in 2005. The Washington Examiner quotes Senator Barack Obama on the 2008 campaign trail:
“We can talk about what happened for two days in 2005 and we should. We can talk about levees that couldn’t hold, a FEMA that seemed not just incompetent but paralyzed and powerless, about a president who only saw the people from the window of an airplane instead of down here on the ground.”
Speaking of the campaign trail, Hillary can’t very well make a Louisiana appearance if Obama says he’d be in the way. So she’s visiting Martha’s Vineyard too.
80% of Success is Showing Up
All that island hopping left a flood victim vacuum. Donald Trump wasted no time filling it. Trump and Mike Pence were soon photographed helping unload a relief truck for the flood victims. And they didn’t seem to be in the way.
Now Obama says he’ll show up Tuesday.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz was forced to step down as Democrat Party Chair. Hacked DNC emails revealed that she helped rig the primary election for Hillary. When she attempted to speak to the florida delegation she was booed off the stage .

Meanwhile, the convention crowd couldn’t get enough of the Big Dog. Bill Clinton spun a yarn about that girl with the frizzy blonde hair and big glasses. There was no mention of “that woman” as Maureen Dowd was quick to point out.
Bill and Hillary would go on to the White House, the Senate, a seat as Secretary of State, and millions in speaking fees.
Republicans Did It
The NYT published an editorial Wednesday calling the Orlando shooting an act of hate. But the editors then said the precise motivation for the atrocity was unclear (Heather Wilhelm calls it America’s Hapless Terror Whodunit).

The editorial solved the mystery by finding that Republicans did it.
It blamed Republicans for creating a climate of hate for L.G.B.T. Americans that led to the violence in Orlando. No mention of a climate of Islamist hate for gays.
The shooter shouted allahu akbar and called 911 to proclaim he was acting for ISIS.
Progressives believe it when a man with a penis says he’s a woman but they don’t believe a man with a gun when he says he’s an Islamic Jihadist.
Paul Joseph Watson says, “The Left has chosen to protect the feelings of Muslims over the lives of gay people.”
