Trump Learns True Meaning of HIs Travel Ban
A Hawaiian judge helped President Trump find the true meaning of his travel ban. Trump thought he was was using his legal authority as president to keep out perceived threats to the United States.
The president’s authority to declare such suspensions can been found in section 212(f) of the INA, the pertinent part of which reads as follows:
“(f) Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”
In this case he said he needed time to vet refugees from jihad torn countries to make sure they aren’t jihadists.
U.S. District Court Judge Derrick Watson – a Harvard classmate appointed by President Obama – says otherwise. The judge ruled Trump’s real intent was to keep out Muslims. The judge knows this because Trump said so in campaign speeches.
Finally, a Democrat who doesn’t think Trump lies.
Voter Fraud
Some Democrats insist there was no foreign voter fraud in the 2016 election. But they also insist the Russians got Trump elected. That, they claim, makes him an illegitimate president.
Holman Jenkins, writing in the WSJ, doesn’t buy it:
The idea of Mr. Trump as Russian agent is one more failure of imagination by the media—a striving to believe that some hidden, sinister logic explains his rise (and also excuses Robby Mook).
Robby Mook was Hillary’s campaign manager. He wants to pin his electoral failure on the Russians. “Incredibly scary,” says Mook.

All this smacks too much of the little Walter Mittys of our overfunded, underdelivering intelligence bureaucracy trying to punish Americans for how they voted.
Resist The Vote
What the people carrying “Resist” signs really don’t like are the Deplorables who voted for Trump.
An October Huffington Post headline read “Trump’s Refusal to Accept Election Results has Americans fuming.” And Hillary called Trump a “threat to Democracy” for refusing to say in advance he’d accept the results of the election.

But Trump won and now the shoe’s on the other foot. A Reason headline about protesters at Berkley says, “Thugs indulge their Weimar Dreams and Become the Totalitarians They Claim to Hate.”
Chuck Schumer’s Decimated Democrats
If anything is decimated it’s the Democratic party. And mouth to mouth may not help.
Politico says Democrats are on the verge of a nervous breakdown. John Podhoretz says elites are already over the nervous breakdown edge.

Chuck Schumer is choking back tears over Trump’s travel ban. They’re tears he never shed when Obama ordered the same thing.
Democrat Better Messaging
The Democrats need more than better messaging. Politico sums up their predicament in a piece called “Democrats in the Wilderness“:
They were counting on a Clinton win to paper over a deeper rot they’ve been worrying about—and to buy them some time to start coming up with answers. In other words, it wasn’t just Donald Trump. Or the Russians. Or James Comey. Or all the problems with how Clinton and her aides ran the campaign. Win or lose, Democrats were facing an existential crisis in the years ahead—the result of years of complacency, ignoring the withering of the grass roots and the state parties, sitting by as Republicans racked up local win after local win.
