Not a Terror Group
The White House won’t negotiate with Islamic State because it’s a terror organization. President Obama swapped five Gitmo terrorists with the Taliban for deserter Bo Bergdahl because the Taliban is not a terror group. It’s an insurgency group. The president does have a strategy.
Never Again
It’s “never again’ time again.
The beginning of January marked the murder of 4 Jews at a Kosher market as part of the Charlie Hebdo cartoonist massacre. Last week marked the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
Also last week, Dr. Krauthammer and Professor Victor Davis Hanson wrote about the current status of Jews in the world. “Never again” isn’t a sure thing. Anti-semitism has been the norm in Europe “for millennia” reports Krauthammer. The murder of 6 million Jews by the losing side set the cause back for a while. But now it’s on the rise again.
Jews aren’t concentrated in Europe anymore. Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasralla likes funneling them into Israel. Krauthammer says, “It took the Nazis seven years to kill 6 million Jews. It would take a nuclear Iran one day.”
President Obama was a no-show at the Charlie Hebdo world leaders’ march for solidarity. He’ll be a no-show in March for Bibi’s speech to Congress too.
In the meantime, The Washington Free Beacon reports that Iran has targeted Benjamin Netanyahu’s children for assassination.
Third String quarterbacks and JV Terrorists
Cardale Jones, the quarterback for Ohio State’s national champion football team says he’s not yet ready for the NFL. He wants to work his way up from third string to second or maybe even first team for the Buckeye’s first.
Cardale has set the tone for benchwarmers everywhere. The Islamic State scrubs come to mind. ISIS doesn’t just hack off heads anymore. It’s now a cyber terror group. ISIS is taking credit for hacking US Central Command computers and exposing military personnel through social networking accounts.
The Commander in Chief, whose address is already exposed, once proclaimed ISIS the JV team.
Still Bush’s Fault
Diane Feinstein issued a Senate Intelligence Committee report on CIA terrorist interrogation tactics it called torture. Members of the committee approved those same tactics after the 9/11 attacks.
The report was written the style of the health care bill – 100% by Democrats. And researched Rolling Stone style – none of the accused were interviewed.
Bottom line – it’s almost 2015 and it’s still Bush’s fault.
Hagel Gone
Chuck Hagel is gone as Secretary of Defense. He was Obama’s third bird. All three complained about interference from the White House staff. They were ok with the cooks and butlers but not so much Susan Rice, McDonough, and Ben Rhodes. Here’s an example from Bloomberg.
Like his immediate predecessors at the Pentagon, Robert Gates and Leon Panetta, Hagel chafed at the way a small cadre of Obama loyalists centralized power in the White House. When Obama backed off a threat to bomb Syria last year, he made the decision on a walk with his chief of staff, Denis McDonough. Hagel was informed of the decision later.
Hagel is is flying the coop, but not just yet. He’ll stay on until Secretary of Defense IV is found.
