Other Than That, How Was The Play, Mrs. Pence?
Brandon Victor Dixon spoke vice president to vice president to Mike Pence last Friday night. Dixon plays Aaron Burr in the Broadway hit “Hamilton”. In real life Burr killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel.
Pence was in the audience. Unarmed.
At the curtain call Dixon thanked Pence for coming to the show. Then offered some advice about the diverse people in America:
“…who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us . . . or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us.”
He was polite but it was maybe a little condescending. A NY Post editorial said, “The words were perfectly respectful — but the implication was downright rude.”
Pence
Pence didn’t seem to mind. He said he wasn’t offended and that Trump meant it when he promised to be president of all the people.
Some good came of Dixon’s lecture. I brushed up on my history. You’ve probably heard that some Democrats aren’t happy about the electoral college. But if you haven’t perused Federalist 68 lately, you might not have noticed that the electoral college was pretty much Hamilton’s baby.
Ok, I only know that because I saw it on Newsbusters.
Global Elite and USA Brexit
The year hasn’t been kind to the global elite.
Curiously, that made many Americans ashamed of their country. They’re resorting to violence because they don’t accept Tuesday’s election results. The same election they feared Donald Trump wouldn’t honor if the results were reversed.
To their credit, President Obama and Hillary Clinton gracefully accepted the voter mandate.
Others, however, are embarrassed because people are laughing at us. Many of whom live under the undemocratic rule of progressive experts. The European Union for example. The EU features strangling regulation, low growth, high unemployment, and negative interest rates.
The Brits had enough of that and voted to exit the E.U. – Brexit. Those voters too were laughed at by their enlightened betters who were embarrassed for their country.
Global Elite
The Obama agenda gave America eight years of increasing regulation, low growth, high unemployment (90 million outside the workforce), and near zero percent interest rates. Hillary Clinton promised to make us even more like France.
So American voters pulled a Brexit and elected Trump. The major media and pollsters missed both the U.K. and U.S.A. revolts entirely.
And that left the global elite shocked and dismayed.
Obama’s Fake Name and Hillary’s Secret Email Server
President Obama told CBS News that he learned about Hillary’s secret email server at “the same time everybody else learned it through news reports.”
That was before the FBI showed Huma Abedin an email the president had sent to Hillary – using a pseudonym. “Why is this not classified?” exclaimed Huma.
Did Obama share classified information on Hillary’s unsecured secret server? Maybe the Russians will let us know.
All About Obama
Fox’s Judge Napolitano and National Review’s Andrew McCarthy (a former federal prosecutor) speculate that the FBI went easy on Hillary because Obama would have been a defense witness in her case.
Update 10/31/16: Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey joined the all about Obama theme writing in today’s WSJ, “If Mrs. Clintgon was at criminal risk for communicating on her nonsecure system, so was he.” “He” being the president.
Hillary’s Secret Email Server
Here’s Neera Tanden, an informal Clinton advisor and president of the progressive think tank Center for American Progress :
“Do we actually know who told Hillary she could use a private email? And has that person been drawn and quartered?” Tanden added the next day. “Like whole thing is fucking insane.”
Two Bit BleachBit Clinton Caper
The FBI did a document dump on the Friday afternoon before Labor Day weekend. The dumped documents detailed Hillary Clinton’s answers to questions about her secret email server.
And it turns out Hillary used 15 Blackberrys with her home brew server. She had publicly claimed she needed the private server so she could use just one device. Of the fifteen devices, two were destroyed with a hammer. The whereabouts of the others are unknown.
BleachBit
Furthermore, an employee of Platte River Networks, the contractor who managed the server, wiped it clean. Not with a cloth or something, as Hillary wondered aloud. He used BleachBit software to destroy data which had been subpoenaed by Congress.
Paul Sperry in the NY Post writes:
Far from exonerating Clinton, the nearly 60 pages of documents expose both the systematic destruction of subpoenaed evidence by Clinton’s aides and the curious lack of interest by investigators in recovering it.
Comey even let Clinton’s State Department aides Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson sit in on the interview with Clinton’s other lawyers, despite the glaring conflict of interest. FBI documents make clear Mills and Samuelson led the effort to search and destroy Clinton’s subpoenaed e-mails and should’ve been prime targets of the investigation.

Andrew McCarthy in National Review calls Mills, longtime consigliere and chief-of-staff at Hillary’s State Department, the Clinton Family’s Tom Hayden.
I’m pretty sure he meant Tom Hagen.
Dallas PD De-Escalation
I noticed while watching on TV that the Dallas Police weren’t wearing riot gear during the Black Lives demonstration. And the atmosphere seemed peaceful – almost friendly in some cases. The Dallas PD calls it De-Escalation.
De-Escalation
The department wanted more transparency. It published a spreadsheet showing 10 years of incidents resulting in injury or death to suspects in custody. BuzzFeed reports claims of excessive force dropped 64% between 2009 and 2014.
The department’s tactics for covering protests reflected its community policing focus. “You have a community that is upset, that feels wronged. It’s important to establish trust with them,” Maj. Max Geron told the Washington Post. “The ideal police response to a protest is no response at all.”
And so on Thursday night, the officers around the protest wore normal uniforms, without helmets or heavy vests.
