Rocky Rudy Defense

rocky rudy defense

In a kind of weird series of events Rudy Giuliani took over President Trump’s legal defense. And he allowed that Trump knew Michael Cohen paid $130,000 to Stormy Daniels. Not only that, Trump paid him back.

Rudy apparently was attempting to show the payment was personal and not a campaign contribution. But yesterday Trump tried to walk back his comments.

Candor Man

Andrew McCabe showed a “lack of candor” when answering questions about the Clinton Foundation investigation. That’s according to the Justice Department inspector general. So Jeff Sessions fired him. Just days before he would have received his pension.

Candor

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has also been known for a lack of candor. But he was offering the “least untruthful” answer possible. And he kept his pension.

Russian Youth Vote

Russian youth vote

Trump congratulated Putin on his re-election. It made him the longest serving Russian ruler since Stalin.

Stalin no doubt would have admired Putin’s 74% take of the vote. But even that’s not as impressive as his 86% support among Russian young people.

Young people in American used to be less skeptical of Russian leaders too. For example, Jimmy Carter warned us of our inordinate fear of Communism. And more recently President Obama dissed Mitt Romney for calling Russia our greatest “geo-political” threat. “The 1980’s are calling and they want their foreign policy back, because the cold war’s been over for 20 years,” Obama mocked.

Brennan’s Russian Youth Vote

Speaking of the 1980’s, former CIA director John Brennan outdid both Carter and Obama. He actually voted for a real live Communist for president. In 1980 he pulled the lever for Gus Hall, leader of the American Communist Party. Brennan was disillusioned with American politics at the time but since then he’s changed his mind.

Which makes him the only American not disillusioned with politics now.

Anyway, as a young CIA recruit Brennan was required to take a polygraph test for a top security clearance. He came clean about his voting history. All was forgiven and he was put in charge of the CIA.

Kind of makes you wonder what Jared Kushner did to lose his top security clearance.

Prince Donald Gets Nigerian Prince Email

Prince Donald released an email he recently received from a Nigerian Prince. It offered a very attractive investment opportunity.

By the way, it looks like Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya was in the country illegally at the time of her meeting with junior. Initially she had been denied a visa but the Obama Justice Department granted her a special “parole”. Even that, however, had expired by the time of her big meeting.

Deep State Russian Dragnet

Daniel Henninger in the WSJ calls the Obama/Lynch decision to allow the NSA to spread raw intel to the other 16 agencies the Rosetta Stone for the Russia story:

As with Hillary’s server, there is a Rosetta Stone for the Russia story. It is the Barack Obama/Loretta Lynch decision in January to sign rules permitting the National Security Agency to disseminate “raw signals intelligence” to 16 other intelligence agencies without privacy protections for individuals.

Russian Dragnet

Two months later, it was reported by the New York Times that Obama administration officials had done this to dispense information across the intelligence bureaucracies “about possible contacts between associates of President-elect Donald J. Trump and Russians.”

Of course, those “contacts” leaked into the water-collection barrels of the entire Washington press—either from officials inside 17 U.S. intelligence agencies or from Obama officials themselves, such as it-wasn’t-me Susan Rice.

The predictable tumult from the Obama-originated mass leaks then intimidated Congress into sending the House and Senate intelligence committees chasing after these “suggestions” of collusion.

Beyond Mike Flynn and Carter Page, why haven’t we seen more leaks pushing past the original stories? Why have the leakers gone silent, unless they leaked everything they had? Indeed why hasn’t there been a mega-dump into the press by now of all the original NSA “raw signals intelligence” à la the Pentagon Papers?

Instead, calls are now bubbling up from this swamp—what else can you call it?—to appoint a special prosecutor, presumably to get to the bottom of the Russian collusion swamp, though without subpoena powers in Moscow.
