Eviscerating ObamaCare

eviscerating obamacare

When President Obama met with party leaders in 2009 Eric Cantor pitched some ideas for the stimulus bill. The president responded, “Elections have consequences and, at the end of the day, I won.” The 800 billion dollar stimulus went on to pass with three Republican votes. And ObamaCare rammed its way through Congress without any Republican support. At the time Democrats controlled the White House, Senate, and House.

Eviscerating ObamaCare

Now that the worm has turned Republicans are committed to eviscerating ObamaCare. But they’re divided over how to do the deed.

The program has never been popular with voters. A new Rasmussen survey finds that only 12% of voters want to keep it as it is. However 56% want the law improved piece by piece. Only 30% want to see the program immediately brought to room temperature.

Trump Accepts Rigged Election If He Wins

161019rigged election

Joe Scarborough dinged the media for freaking out over Trump’s refusal to accept the results of the election. But after spending the week saying the election is rigged what else would you expect him say?

Rigged Election

Trump later joked that he’ll definitely accept the rigged election results if he wins:

“I will accept a clear election result,” Trump allowed. “But I would also reserve my right to contest or file a legal challenge in the case of a questionable result.” He cited the landmark 2000 Supreme Court case Bush v. Gore as precedent for needing to contest an election.

Here’s to hanging chads.

VA Secretary Bob McDonald is ok with long lines.

“When you go to Disney, do they measure the number of hours you wait in line? Or what’s important?” “What’s important is what’s your satisfaction with the experience?”

When it comes to the government Daniel Henninger, in the WSJ, thinks the experience is mostly Mickey Mouse.

Superdelegates

superdelegates

The idea for this one crept into my head while I was reading the NYT story by David Samuels about “Obama’s foreign policy guru” Ben Rhodes.

Rhodes bragged about planting a false narrative about the Iran nuclear deal to make the agreement seem more palatable to the American public. He claimed that the election of Iranian moderates is what sparked the deal. In reality President Obama sparked the deal by reaching out to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei long before that.

I was mulling over that little subterfuge when Bernie Sanders popped up on the television screen (I was multitasking), complaining again about the rigged Democratic primary.

The Economist explains here how the Ayatollah picks the candidates in Iran. Law/Street explains here how superdelegates pick candidates in America.
