Head Smash Remorse From Myles Garrett

An editorial cartoon depicting a conversation between two american football players, with one suggesting that suspended nfl players should show remorse.

Sunday was a bad day for Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph. He threw four interceptions and his team lost to the Cleveland Browns 21 to 7. But things could get worse. And they did. Browns defensive end Myles Garrett bludgeoned Rudolph in the head medieval mace style with his own helmet.

Remorse

So the No Fun League suspended Garrett indefinitely. But he’s appealing the suspension on Wednesday. And Commissioner Roger Goodell says the key for Myles is remorse.

“We’ll make a judgment on does he have remorse, does he understand why it’s not acceptable, do we understand what he’s going to do to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Those are the things that are going to be very important for us…If they get it and they understand that they make a mistake, and say, ‘I’m committed to changing,’ you’re usually on a good path.”

If You Like Your Private Insurance…

Maybe Elizabeth Warren is a little too refreshing. Her plan to take away your current coverage might have been a bridge too far. Rich Lowry says even some Democrat primary voters don’t want to give up private insurance.”

Red Scare II

A new red scare haunts the halls of Congress. If President Trump isn’t an outright Russian agent – paying hookers to pee on Obama’s bed (turned out that was just a media leak) – he’s using Russia to extort favors from Ukraine. At least that’s how many Dems see it.

Red Scare

But back in 2012 the shoe was on the other foot. President Obama mocked Mitt as a Russian conspiracy crank, and went on to win the election.

too many words

Here’s an example of too much information choking a cartoon. My first version looked like this:

UH OH Canada

Rock ’em sock ’em Canadian hockey icon Don Cherry recently got the axe from Hockey Night In Canada. Cherry’s an old time hockey guy. Eddie Shore. He’s also a flamboyant Canada first kind of guy. Sound familiar?

Justin Trudeau is Cherry’s opposite. An international multiculturalist. Cherry chose Veterans Day – Rememberance Day in Canada – to criticize newer arrived urban Canadians for not sporting poppy pins to honor Canada’s war dead. He says he regrets referring to them as “you people.”

Trudeau would never say “you people,” though he might say “my people.” Playing against type though, photos of him dressed in black face surfaced during the last election. He won anyway.

Maybe there’s a future for Don Cherry here in the states.

Due Process Parody

We’re told the House Intelligence Committee impeachment hearing isn’t a legal proceeding. But it’s a political one and the rules of due process don’t seem to apply.

Due Process

With that in mind, here are a few of Chairman Schiff’s rules for the hearing:

No Trump lawyers or White House counsel are permitted.

Trump may not confront his accuser (the whistleblower). And the whistle blower won’t testify. That’s because Schiff says his testimony would be redundant and unnecessary .

Unlike Trump, apparently Hunter Biden is above the law and any investigation of him would be considered a sham. So Hunter won’t be testifying either.

And, finally, outing the whistleblower is strictly forbidden and will be be considered an ethics violation.
