Steve Bannon’s Wild Ride
Roy Moore rode his horse, Sassy, to the polls. I think Sassy voted Democrat.
Hard to imagine a worse candidate than Moore. But he was Steve Bannon’s man. And Bannon said, “there’s a special place in hell for Republicans who don’t support Moore.”
On the other hand there may be a special place in Hell for Republicans who stick with Bannon.
Wild Ride
The last time Republicans went down this road they nominated a witch, Christine O’Donnell, for the Senate. Of course, she denied she was a witch. She still lost.
The last time Alabama sent a Democrat to the Senate was Richard Shelby in 1992. And even he’s a Republican now.
Not only that, NY Republican Rep. Pete King thinks Bannon looks like a “disheveled drunk.”
FBI Flipped the Bird At Congress
William McGurn says in the in the WSJ that FBI Director Christopher Wray flipped the bird at Congress. Wray refused to provide information about applications for FISA warrants used to spy on Americans.
Flipped the Bird at Congress
He says it’s classified information. And besides, he’s preparing a report for the Inspector General.
Congress can wait.
Senate Tax Bill Kills Health Insurance Individual Mandate
The Senate tax bill ends the mandate to buy health insurance. This is a bad thing? It is according to a CNN Money article:
Poor Americans would lose billions of dollars worth of federal benefits under the Senate GOP tax bill, according to a new Congressional Budget Office report.
This is largely because the legislation would eliminate the individual mandate, which requires nearly all Americans to get health insurance or pay a penalty. This would result in 13 million fewer people having coverage in 2027, the CBO found.
Many of the folks who would forgo coverage would have lower or moderate incomes and would have qualified for Medicaid or federal help paying their premiums or out-of-pocket health expenses, CBO found.
If it’s a good deal why do people need to be forced to buy it? Do they think we’re stupid?
Oh.
Senator Pocahontas
President Trump cracked wise about Senator Pocahontas to some Native American WWII heroes on Monday. Of course he was referring to Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.
Warren, a blue eyed blonde, landed a job at Harvard Law School while claiming to be a Cherokee Indian, due to high cheekbones. Harvard touted her as the law school’s “first woman of color.”
Senator Pocahontas
Now she’s touchy about the subject. So she took Trump’s bait and called his comment a racial slur.
Mollie Hemingway says that makes no sense:
The only way the Pocahontas insult makes sense is as a joke about Warren’s false claim of being Native American. He’s not insulting her for being a Native American, because she’s not Native American. He’s highlighting how she gave employers and others false information about her tribal status while at Harvard and elsewhere.
Rand Paul’s Yard Job
Republican Senator Rand Paul’s next door neighbor did a yard job on him. He blindsided the senator while he mowed the grass. As a result the ophthalmologist/senator spent Thanksgiving recovering from 6 broken ribs and a punctured lung.
Rand Paul’s Yard
The question everyone’s asking is, “do U.S. senators really mow their own yards?” That, and, “what’s up with Rand’s neighbor?”
Everyone, that is, except the media. Mrs. Paul doesn’t think this is about leftover fish sticks. And in light of last summer’s shooting of Congressman Scalise she thinks there ought to be more interest.
Update: Senator Paul now says he knows why he was attacked. But he isn’t talking. Instead he’s hired a personal injury lawyer.
