Checks and Balances

160101-checks and balancesLooks like he latest version of federal checks and balances includes the executive branch spying on the legislative branch.

The Wall Street Journal ran a story last week about the US spying on our allies. The main ally in question was Israel as Benjamin Netanyahu prepared to make a speech before a joint session of Congress criticizing the Iran deal. The kicker was that in the process of spying on Bibi the NSA listened in on confidential conversations between him and members of the US Congress.

It seemed a little surprising that Obama cares what the legislative branch has to say, considering his habit of going around  it and ruling by executive order.

Closest Thing to a Jew

150603-closest thing to a jew

Former Obama administration high priest David Axelrod says the president revealed to him that he’s “the closest thing to a Jew that has ever sat in this office.” It’s hurtful to him when people say he’s hostile to Israel. The president also told a young Asian group this week that he personally restored America to international respectability. And, despite missing state department emails, destroyed IRS emails, and delayed FOIA requests, he continues with the “most transparent administration in history” boast.

Enemy of Your Enemy

150304-enemy-of-your-enemyIranian Revolutionary Guard forces are fighting in Iraq against ISIS. That would be the Islamic Republic vs the Islamic State. President Obama is negotiating a secret nuke deal with the Islamic Republic. Not that this has anything to do with Islam.

In his speech before Congress, Bemjamin Netanyahu reminded his audience that in this case the enemy of your enemy is still your enemy. Many Democrats saw Bibi and Boehner as the enemy and boycotted the speech. Here’s a list of no-shows from IBD.

Charles Krauthammer points out that Netanyahu hinted Israel could live with an agreement if Iran changes is aggressive ways. President Obama, another no-show, dismissed the speech as “nothing new”.

President Fruit Loop

150123-bibiOne day YouTube star GloZell Green is thrashing in her milk filled bath tub bobbing for Fruit Loops. Next thing you know she’s interviewing the president of the United States.

The president is concerned that the dignity of his office has been gravely damaged – by Speaker Boehner.

John Boehner invited the Israeli Prime minister to speak to Congress. Bibi accepted. Obama blew his lid. Mouthpiece Josh Ernest claimed it was a violation of protocol for Congress to extend the invitation without the permission of the co-equal executive branch. Payback was promised. This was no mere violation of the Constitution.

John Kerry is especially miffed at being dissed by Netanyahu after all he’s done for him. Somebody, give him a hug. And, James Taylor, could you please come back and sing You got a Friend?

Meanwhile the president dissed the Main Stream Media. They’ve long been in the tank for him. Now he’s in the tub with GloZell. But it wasn’t all milk and Fruit Loops.  GloZell upstaged the msm with a question about Cuba. She demanded to know how he could “justify negotiating with the guy who puts the dick in dictatorship”.

Chickenshit

An article in the Atlantic reveals that an anonymous White House staffer wanted it known he thinks Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “chickenshit“. Seemed like a chickenshit thing to do.

The White House is making no effort to identify the chicken.

According to Politico  staffers have also said Secretary of State John Kerry is tumbling untethered through space like Sandra Bullock in the movie “Gravity”. Meanwhile, President Obama has become so untethered from popular support chances are he’ll lose the Senate on Tuesday.

Another Politico story says that the administration is so worried about the midterms it sent forth cabinet members like flying monkeys to scare up votes. Alas:

Their efforts do not appear to have done any good. Obama’s numbers, if anything, have gone down, and the only question Democrats are going into Tuesday with is how many losses they’re going to suffer.

Could be his cabinet secretaries were unenthusiastic after losing influence to the White House staff. (From the first Politico piece)

Earlier, Obama’s first two secretaries of defense, Robert Gates and Leon Panetta, published books criticizing his decisions on national security. Specifically, they complained that Obama has brought so much responsibility into the executive office of the president that it has paralyzed the White House’s ability to think strategically.

The National Security Council itself has grown from about 50 people under President George W. Bush to just under 400 people under Obama, Reuters reported.
