Obama Policies Lose Senate
Hog-castrator, and Taylor Swift-look-alike, Joni Earnst put Republicans in control of the U.S. Senate with her victory in Iowa last night.
Six years ago first term senator Barack Obama accepted his party’s presidential nomination in front of fake Greek columns and 70,000 true believers in Denver. Two weeks ago he said that he’s not on the ballot in this election but his policies are. And so they were.

The Washington Post said yesterday this election was all about Obama.

All About Obama
President Obama and Republicans have finally found common ground. They agree that the midterm elections should be about him.
The president has been staying away from the campaign trail – at the request of his fellow Democrats. They fear his low poll numbers are bringing down the rest of the party. But that hasn’t kept him quiet. During a speech at Northwestern University he announced “I may not be on the ballot, but my policies are – every last one of them”. “That”, said former advisor David Axelrod, “was a mistake”. Republicans agreed and immediately produced ads to spread the president’s message.
Just in case his base missed the message, Obama went on Al Sharpton‘s radio show to say that Democrats may be running from him but they are really with him and they support his agenda.
Still About Obama
There may be a method to Obama’s Messiah Madness. While his approval numbers among women and latinos have fallen, over 85% of blacks still support him. The NYT reports that a huge black turnout is the only way Democrats can hold the Senate. Obama has said many of those voters may not even be aware there’s an election going on. So this could be about drumming up turnout, and transferring a little love to Democratic Senate candidates to keep that agenda alive.
Democrat Deniers
President Obama spends tons of time and taxpayer money raising funds for his fellow Democrats. In return the ingrates won’t even be seen with him.
Alison Lundergan Grimes, a perfectly good candidate for Mitch McConnell’s Kentucky Senate seat, won’t even admit she voted for the guy. Maybe she didn’t. She clings to her shotgun while insisting she’s no Barack Obama.
The Wall Street Journal goes on to list other Democrats who are shunning the pres. Mark Pryor has voted with Obama 93% of the time. Mark Begich rings in at 97%.

Republican Senator Jeff Sessions thinks Congress is in an abusive relationship with the president.

National Review Online published a speech Sessions gave on Wednesday. He complained that no Democrat would support legislation to block President Obama from issuing executive orders on immigration.
The Senate Democratic conference has supported and enabled the president’s unlawful actions and blocked every effort to stop them…
Just yesterday Majority Leader Reid wrote in a tweet something that was shocking. He said: “Since House Republicans have failed to act on immigration, I know the President will. When he does, I hope he goes Real Big.”
Let this sink in for a moment. The majority leader of the Senate is bragging that he knows the president will circumvent Congress to issue executive amnesty to millions…
Go It Alone – Later
In June the president said that since Congress refused to act on immigration he’d do it himself, just like the little red hen. He promised to go it alone before the end of summer.
On Saturday he announced that he would delay his go it alone strategy until after the November elections. Ezra Klein, usually more sympathetic than not toward Obama, says this is dumb.
Senator Mitch McConnell has a point when he says, “What’s so cynical about today’s immigration announcement is that the president isn’t saying he’ll follow the law, he’s just saying he’ll go around the law once it’s too late for Americans to hold his party accountable in the November elections.”
Klein wonders why Obama is delaying his end run around a Congress he accuses of delaying immigration reform.
This is the problem with the White House’s decision — and, to some degree, the way they’ve managed this whole issue. If these deportations are a crisis that merits deeply controversial, extra-congressional action, then it’s hard to countenance a politically motivated delay. If they’re not such a crisis that immediate action is needed, then why go around Congress in the first place?
