Anatomically Correct Memories
Judge Kavanaugh’s accusers have memory gaps. But that’s not surprising considering their allegations are thirty-something years old. So Deborah Ramirez consulted with a lawyer for six days to clear her head. And only then was she comfortable retrieving the memory of Brett Kavanaugh’s long dong silver in her face.
Which brought to mind the child daycare hysteria cases, also from the 1980’s. (Not to say Deborah Ramirez is hysterical.) But therapists in those cases used anatomically correct dolls to coerce very young children to recover “repressed” memories of satanic ritual sex abuse.
Antifa Hate Warriors
There was an alt-right white supremacist rally in Washington over the weekend. But only twenty people showed up. Without their tiki torches.
White supremacists aren’t what they used to be.
Still a couple hundred Antifa were on hand to battle the hate. Mostly they did that by threatening cops, journalists and President Trump.
Church and Chick-fil-A
We all know you can indict a ham sandwich. But the CEO of Twitter got busted by the culture cops for buying a chicken sandwich.
Jack Dorsey bragged in a tweet that he got a 10% discount using a Chick-fil-A app. But Soledad O’Brien wasn’t impressed. She tweeted, “This is an interesting company to boost during Pride month, Jack.”
Church and Chick-fil-A
The owner of Chick-fil-A opposes same sex marriage. And, apparently, an American eating at Chick-fil-A during Gay Pride month is the moral equivalent of a Saudi noshing a BLT during Ramadan.
So Dorsey tweeted his apology – “You’re right. Completely forgot about their background.”
Threat to American Democracy
Here’s what William McGurn has to say in the WSJ about the strange reasoning of some anti-Trump elites:
Threat to American Democracy
The people aren’t stupid. The 63 million Americans who voted for Mr. Trump—some as an unappealing but better alternative to Mrs. Clinton, but many with gusto—recognize that what is going on here is a concerted effort to overturn the results of a legitimate presidential election. Is it really unreasonable to ask whether this might be as much of a threat to American democracy as anything Mr. Trump has said or done?
Latino Victory Fund Scares Elephants
A moderate Democrat beat a moderate Republican to win the governor’s race in Virginia last week.
Latino Victory Fund
But a campaign ad by the Latino Victory Fund was anything but moderate. It featured an Ed Gillespie stand-in chasing minority children in a pickup truck. The ad only ran once but the Latino Viciory Fund president, Cristóbal Alex, says he’d do it again.
Some Republicans fear this could be a trend that will cost them their Senate majority.
Nothing really changed in Virginia though. A new Democrat simply replaced an old Democrat in the governor’s house.
