Gay Marriage Bigotry

150701evolving-c1
Everybody knows President Obama was against same sex marriage until he was for it. He said he evolved on the issue. Justice Kennedy and four other members of the Supreme Court also evolved this week. Now that it’s a civil right, opposition to gay marriage could be considered bigotry.

Keeping up with Cait

The train of public tolerance for LGBT issues left the station a while ago. Bruce Jenner’s sympathetic interview with Diane Sawyer helped move it down the tracks. In that appearance Bruce wore men’s clothes on the outside but felt like a woman on the inside. Now all of a sudden he’s Caitlyn in a corset on the cover of Vanity Fair.

Who wants to see a 65 year old of any sex in a corset? A lot of people apparently. Caityn had 2 million twitter followers by Friday. On July 15 Jenner will be honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award on ESPN’s ESPY Awards. A reality show, “I am Cait”, premiers on “E” network July 26.

Now Cait Courageous is riding the gravy train of one the greatest publicity stunts in history. Not that there’s anything wrong with publicity stunts.

Update:

Mark Steyn thinks “NOAA’s adjustment of their (climate) figures is a far bigger story than Caitlyn’s adjustment of hers.”

Gay Marriage Baked in the Cake

The Supreme Court is considering whether same sex marriage is a constitutional right. Many court experts think it’s already baked in the cake. American tolerance of homosexuality has improved dramatically in a short time. Does the tolerance go both ways?

LGBT activists recently shunned and boycotted a prominent gay couple for hosting Ted Cruz for a discussion about gay marriage and the Middle East. A Christian couple in Oregon lost their bakery when they refused to bake a cake for a same sex wedding. Then a judge fined them $135000. They were kicked off GoFundMe where they were raising funds to pay the fine.

During oral arguments last week Alito asked if churches could lose their tax exempt status if they refuse to perform gay weddings. The government lawyer said it would be “an issue”.

Mothers Day Kiss

Woke up Mothers Day morning to the sight of Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend’s cake covered face on SportsCenter… over and over and over. Sam, the first openly gay player in the league, was picked by St. Louis in the final round of the NFL draft. Football experts from Barack Obama to Peter King say this is a good thing. So it is.

No Kiss

It won’t be easy, though. I was reminded by a friend that Jonathan Martin got no kiss when his Dolphin teammates bullied him out of Miami to San Francisco last year. And Martin wasn’t even gay, just nice.

The Debate Is So Over

140414-debate-over

The debate is over for ObamaCare, Climate Change, and Gay Marriage. Especially gay marriage.

Brendan Eich, former CEO of Mozilla, didn’t know that. In 2008 he made a $1000 contribution in support of California’s Proposition 8 to ban gay marriage. The majority of California voters didn’t know the debate was over either. They passed the proposition. To better help everyone understand that the debate is over, Brendan Eich was forced out of his job.

The Debate is Over, Dammit

The wizard standing on top of the guillotine has a hockey stick on his wizard hat. That’s in honor of Michael Mann’s “hockey stick” theory of global warming. Dr. Mann is a professor at Penn State University. The shaft of his “hockey stick” graph represents 1000 years of steady global temperatures and the blade shows a sharp increase in the 20th century. Some skeptics claimed Professor Mann’s model results in a hockey stick shape no matter what data you enter. This enraged the Professor. He went all goon and has been taking two handed slashes at his doubters ever since.

Some skeptical journalist drew an analogy to Mann’s methods and those of another noted Penn State figure, Jerry Sandusky. In order to help the journalists understand the debate is over Dr. Mann sued them.
