Wrong Stuff
Neil Armstrong feels Obama has made a giant leap in the wrong direction by canceling the NASA Constellation program. The president says he’s still spending astronomical sums on space and plans on a mars landing by the mid 2030s. A convenient getaway before social security goes broke in 2041.
Tiger’s Happy Place
The good news is Tiger says he doesn’t exploit women anymore. The bad news is he exploits his dead dad in a recent Nike commercial. The spot brought to mind another truly mythical golfer with self-control issues – Happy Gilmore. Happy channels his father figure, Chubb, in that movie’s final scene (fast forward to the 3:22 mark).
Taxpayers
47% of Americans will pay no federal income tax this year. Not sure if that figure includes the Treasury Secretary. According to Heritage Foundation the richest 10% pay 71% of all federal income tax. Mark Steyn has some thoughts on voting your neighbor’s pocketbook.
Middleman
As President Obama signed into law the federal takeover of the student loan industry, he said he was “ending giveaways to banks” by “cutting out the middleman“. “Middleman” Sallie Mae announced it will lay off 2500 employees.
