Winning is for Losers
“These long wars will come to a responsible end”, so says the president. Winning is out. Responsible ending is in. Other than in politics and pro sports (NCAA included), winning has become less than cool.
Like drinking responsibly, it’s hard to argue with ending responsibly. It just doesn’t sound like much fun. But it has to be done, in order to win in Nov 2012.
War Games
I didn’t watch Obama’s speech about “recovering the surge” in Afghanistan. But I hear he wants to ditch the war so he can move on to “nation building” in the homeland.
The war and the economy are dragging the president down in the polls. Yesterday he tapped the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to supplement the oil we get from from the drilling jobs we paid for in Brazil.
I think I like the war more than I used to.
