Nothing But Net
Here’s Obama’s speech at the CIA. He wanted to boost morale after he released the “torture” memos. He said, “This is a time for reflection, not retribution”. Then he he reversed course to allow for possible prosecution of high officials. In his speech he said harsh interrogations did “not make us safer”. Memos that showed water boarding saved lives were not released. Another slam dunk in the war against Man Caused Disasters.
Pirates Demand 2 Million Dollars
According to the NY Post the Pirates want $2 million. President Obama laughed off the demand saying he doesn’t leave the White House for a bag of arugula at Whole Foods with less than a trillion in his pocket.
Master and Commander on the Far Side
Well, when I drew this it looked like we had the drop on the pirates. Our pirate hostage hero, Master and Commander, Richard Phillips, jumped overboard and swam for the navy destroyer, USS Bainbridge. Information is sketchy but it seemed like a good opportunity for shooting pirates in a barrel. Instead the pirates recaptured the bold Commander. Safety seems to be the operative word here. A New York Times report says, “the captain was seen “safe and sound” back on board the lifeboat…” Doesn’t appear to be what the captain had in mind.
