Last week Senate Republicans voted to deny the executive branch the power to revoke second amendment rights without due process. Leading Democrats accused Republicans of wanting to sell guns to ISIS.
Sell Guns to Mexican Drug Cartel
Early in the Obama administration ATF actually did sell weapons to members of the Mexican Drug cartel. The program was called Operation Fast and Furious. It was a scheme to track the movement of weapons to Mexican crime scenes. The Justice Department called it gun walking. But ATF lost track of where the guns walked.
Sheryl Atkinson covered the story extensively for CBS News. U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and hundreds of Mexicans and were murdered with weapons sold by the Fast and Furious Operation.
Let’s recall also TOW missiles for Terrorists:
“At least since 2014 the Obama administration has armed a number of Syrian rebel groups even though it knew the groups were coordinating closely with the Nusra Front, which was simultaneously getting arms from Turkey and Qatar. The strategy called for supplying TOW anti-tank missiles to the “Syrian Revolutionaries Front” (SRF) as the core of a client Syrian army that would be independent of the Nusra Front.
However, when a combined force of Nusra and non-jihadist brigades including the SRF captured the Syrian army base at Wadi al-Deif in December 2014, the truth began to emerge. The SRF and other groups to which the United States had supplied TOW missiles had fought under Nusra’s command to capture the base.”
