The Obama Budget is in and so are the reviews. Robert Reich is pleased. He calls it progressive. The WSJ calls it revolutionary and draws attention to “an inconvenient tax”. Climate revenue flowing from the cap-and-trade system of carbon credits is really a big fat new tax. Krugman thinks it looks Mahvelous. And Krauthammer thinks it’s a plan for a European Union type nanny state.
It took 8 years of a Democratic administration to balance the budget and overcome Reaganomics’ deficits. I remember as Clinton was leaving office that we would finally pay down our national debt. What a laugh! W’s trickle down theories again threw us in a huge deficit as well as an economic collapse. It’s going to take another Democratic administration to balance the budget to recover from a “conservative”.

CAV-I believe you’re remembering Clinton’s last minute projection during a sharp upswing that we “will have a ten trillion dollar surplus” which was childish at best.
