Lebron won his fourth NBA title but nobody saw it. Well, not exactly nobody – in addition to the cardboard cutouts, 8.29 million breathing people watched on ABC. But that was 57.6% drop in viewership since LeBron’s last NBA Finals performance with the Cavs in 2018 .

Commissioner Adan Silver seemed to think that another area where LeBron execells, social justice messaging, had something to do with it. So next season the players will be asked to message on their own time.

Laker Lebron

laker LeBron

LeBron James has taken his talents to Hollywood. But fans aren’t burning his jersey this time around. After all, he’s the greatest athlete who ever lived.

He brought Cleveland its first major professional championship since Jim Brown did the same in 1964. (The previous greatest athlete who ever lived.)

Laker LeBron

LeBron accepted a four year offer from the Lakers for $153 million. And he turned down a five year deal from the Cavs for $205 million. He had his reasons.

When LeBron took his talents to South Beach there was bitterness. There were petty complaints. Some even said he was a cheap tipper. But he just now left $53 million on the table.

Burning Love for LeBron

Sportsman of the Year

Sports Illustrated has named LeBron James its sportsman of the year. He did win an NBA Title and Most Valuable Player award to go along with his Olympic Gold Medal. I think he’s the best player I ever saw. But I never felt that the way he quit on his team in the 2010 playoffs, and then colluded with Dwayne Wade to take his talents to South Beach, was very sporting.

(Full disclosure: disgtruntled ticket holder.)

Heat of the Moment

LeBron James and Dwayne Wade had a little fun at Dallas Maverick star Dirk Nowitzki’s expense after he played game 4 with fever and sinus infection.
